Need to investigate why certain PO fails due to idoc error " could not write to file".

It was observed that for few purchase orders EDI output is failing and getting error message as 'could not write to file'. After analysis understand that this error we are getting only if purchase groups are 041 and 042. Then realized that in the description of these purchase groups 041 and 042 long hyphen ( _ ) is used. EDI system not able interpret this long hyphen and throwing the error.

Resolution

Advised New Era to change the descriptions of 041&042 purchasing groups by using the small hyphen instead of long hyphen. New Era modified the descriptions of purchasing groups.
